Max Homa is a player who I’ve wanted to have on the Scoop since the show first began. He’s hilarious, extremely intelligent and has incredible golf stories. It took a little bit of planning for us to find a day that worked for the interview, but once it was scheduled I knew we were going to have a blast.
Max went with dairy-free vanilla, which would be the most surprising flavor request I’ve gotten if not for Nelly Korda’s rum raisin request (sorry Nelly, I went to three stores in Orlando and none of them had it). The grocery store I went to before Homa’s Scoop had coconut milk vanilla and oat milk vanilla. He didn’t have a preference, so I scooped the coconut milk one into one bowl, the oat milk into another, put them behind my back and had him pick. To this day, who consumed which remains one of golf’s greatest mysteries.
We were planning on launching the Homa Scoop this month anyways, but his third-place finish at the Masters last week made it truly perfect timing. Homa is definitely hilarious online (and I like to think I have a sense of humor, too), but it was nice to put the jokes to the side and have a different type of conversation with him. I could’ve listened to his golf memories for hours. We discussed the highs and lows of his professional career, that Ryder Cup putt, his caddie, and a whole lot more.
From teeing it up with Tiger Woods at St. Andrews to what he’s learned over the course of his career, get to know the six-time PGA Tour winner. I recommend you scoop yourself some ice cream to watch this one. I think you’ll really enjoy it.
