Once one of the game’s hottest players, Anthony Kim has been missing in action for over six years. His short PGA Tour career was highlighted by three Tour victories and a starring role at the 2008 Ryder Cup at Valhalla.
Unfortunately, injuries plagued him (a torn ligament in his left thumb, tendonitis and a surgically repaired Achilles tendon) and Kim has not played four full, competitive rounds since the 2012 Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Kim has remained largely out of the spotlight, popping up occasionally at Las Vegas nightclubs or charity golf outings, but, with a reported eight-figure disability insurance policy hanging in the balance, his return to professional golf appears unlikely.
But the depth of interest in Kim was underlined on Tuesday, when an instagrammer posted a video that allegedly showed Kim hitting a shot on a driving range. Not only was Kim hitting balls, he was striping them. For a while many assumed the video was recent, but an update was posted saying the video was at least two years old.
It’s still fun to check out what was once the most promising swing in the game.

Only time will tell if Kim will tee it up on Tour again, but based on his action, it doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch.
