We’re at the midway point of the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open, with American Bailey Tardy leading the national championship by two strokes.
The 26-year-old LPGA rookie is in a big spot, no doubt. This is just her 11th start of the year and only the 15th of her LPGA career. She’s never recorded a top 20 — her best career finish on tour is a tie for 23rd at the Lotte Championship in April — and this is just the fifth cut she’s made this season.
But she’s been the best through 36 holes at a difficult setup at Pebble Beach Golf Links, and now is when the tournament really heats up.
Allisen Corpuz and Hyo Jon Kim are tied for second at five under, two back, and Hae Ran Ryu is three under. The only other players under par are Nasa Hataoka and Leona Maguire, both at one under.
