Tommy Fleetwood has long been named one of the best golfers on the PGA Tour who is still without a win, although Vegas thinks he could kick that reputation this week.
According to Fanatics Sportsbook, Fleetwood is the betting favorite for this week’s Valspar Championship. He’s +1100 to win this week at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Fla., which gives him a slight edge over two-time major champ Xander Schauffele (+1200).
“I really like Tommy Fleetwood this week,” said Colt Knost, when breaking down Subpar’s weekly Fanatics Sportsbook bets of the week. “I know he’s the betting favorite and I do think this is the week he gets that first PGA Tour win. But for my bet I’m going a top-20 play, at [+255], J.T. Poston. His last appearance was two years ago here and he finished tied for 10th.”
As for Drew Stoltz’s pick, he’s going with a Canadian who is coming off back-to-back top 10s.
“I’m going to stay in my top-20 zone; I’m a little concerned because I love this bet a lot and normally when I love things this much they don’t love me back,” Stoltz said. “Corey Conners, top 20, [+155], he just finished 6th at the Players and has three top 10s in seven events this season.”
Behind Fleetwood and Schauffele, Sepp Straka has the third-best odds to win (+1800) and is followed by Conners (+2000) and Justin Thomas (+2000).
