The 2023 U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach is sure to be a hot ticket. Though the venerated public course has hosted six men’s U.S. Opens and 13 previous USGA championships, it’s the first time the U.S. Women’s Open will be played there.

On Tuesday, the USGA released the host course list for the U.S. Women’s Open’s 2023 qualifiers. The qualifiers will be held across 26 total sites: 23 in the United States, and one each in Canada, Japan and Belgium, between May 9 and June 7.

Unlike the men’s championship, the women do not play in 18-hole local qualifiers to earn entry into final qualifying. Instead, women compete over 36 holes at one of the 26 qualifying sites with top finishers earning direct entry into the championship.

To enter the championship, amateur women must have a USGA handicap index of 2.4 or better.

Last year, the USGA received a record number of entries as 1,874 players attempted to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open at Pine Needles in Southern Pines, N.C. It seems likely that interest in competing at the first U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach could surpass that number.

Hopefuls can apply online starting Feb. 15. The entry period will close on May 3 at 5 p.m. ET. The U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach will be played July 6-9. Check out the full list of 2023 qualifying sites below.
