U.S. Open 2019: Gary Woodland’s Star-Spangled shoes are turning heads at Pebble Beach

June 17, 2019

If the U.S. Open trophy was awarded to the golfer with the best shoes, Gary Woodland would probably walk away with the title based on what he’s wearing during Sunday’s final round at Pebble Beach.

Given it’s the national championship, Woodland broke out a pair of Star-Spangled American flag Puma shoes for his last 18 holes. And the shoes do not disappoint at all.

The upper part of the shoes feature the red and white stripes of the American flag, as well as the Puma logo in blue. The bottom part showcases the stars of the American flag. There have been plenty of “U-S-A” chants after Woodland has teed off at Pebble Beach on Sunday, and these shoes are probably part of the reason why.

Golf fans seem to like Woodland’s kicks so far.

Woodland is looking for his first U.S. Open title and major championship on Sunday. He’s trying to hold off the hard-charging Brooks Koepka and Justin Rose. Follow along with our live blog and leaderboard.
