Wyndham Championship betting odds: Favorites and underdogs in Greensboro

July 30, 2019

The PGA Tour’s 2018-19 regular season schedule comes to a close this week at the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina. The tournament, which will be played at Sedgefield Country Club, is the last chance for many players to qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs in August.

Webb Simpson is the betting favorite to win this week with 10/1 odds. The 2012 U.S. Open champion is coming off a second-place finish at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational at TPC Southwind in Memphis this past week. The 33-year-old Simpson last won on Tour at the 2018 Players Championship, and his first Tour win came at the 2011 Wyndham Championship. The North Carolina-native, who was a runner-up at last year’s tournament, is ranked No. 17 in the world.

Rookie Collin Morikawa, who won the Barracuda Championship this past week for his first PGA Tour victory, enters with 18/1 odds to win this week. His win catapulted him from 172nd to 90th in the OWGR.

The defending champion in the event also happens to be the guy with the most Wyndham titles in the field: Brandt Snedeker. The 2018 champion and two-time winner enters the event with 25/1 odds to win his third Wyndham Championship. The 38-year-old Snedeker hasn’t won on Tour since last year’s event, and he’s coming off a T27 finish at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude. Snedeker, who won the Wyndham during his rookie season on Tour in 2007, is currently ranked No. 48 in the world.
