U.S. Open live coverage: How to watch the 2019 U.S. Open on Friday

June 14, 2019

Thursday’s first round of the U.S. Open gave us plenty of the expected and unexpected. Few foresaw quite so many low scores, with birdies and eagles galore at Pebble Beach, especially early.

Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele and Louis Oosthuizen each carded a 66 to set the pace early in the day. Then Justin Rose birdied 18 at dusk to top them all with a 65.

It was a day of grinding for some of the big names. Brooks Koepka — searching for his third U.S. Open in a row — birdied three of the first five holes, but sputtered the rest of the way, finishing at two under par. Dustin Johnson fought through struggles to shoot 71. And Tiger Woods needed three long par saves to finish his round at one under par.

Who among them will make a big move Friday? Who in the pack at the top can stay there? Regardless, with 13 guys at three under par or better, there’s sure to be plenty of movement.

Friday will pave the way for a weekend sure to be rife with storylines. Here’s how you can watch it:
