U.S. Open 2019: Justin Thomas, Tony Finau among notables to miss cut at Pebble Beach
The 2019 U.S. Open will continue at iconic Pebble Beach this weekend. However, not every player will compete in the final two rounds of the tournament, as roughly half the field failed to make the cut. Only the low 60 players (plus ties) earn the right to compete through the weekend.
The most notable players who shot 3 over par or worse and will be sent home early include Lucas Glover, Branden Grace, Tony Finau, Jimmy Walker, Ian Poulter, Justin Thomas, Mike Weir, Kevin Na, Ernie Els, Keegan Bradley, J.B. Holmes, Bubba Watson, and Lucas Bjerregaard.
Several players were right on the edge of missing the cut but survived to play the weekend. After a first-round 70, Tyrrell Hatton struggled to a second-round 74 to make the cut on the number. Tommy Fleetwood also made the cut on the number, shooting 71-73. Shane Lowry rallied from a first-round 75 and shot 69 on Friday to finish safely at 2 over par.

Aaron Wise and Rory McIlroy are 5 under par, and there are five players are tied at 4 under par — including two-time defending champion Brooks Koepka. Tiger Woods is T-32 and even par overall.
