Rewatch Tiger’s win at the 2019 Masters with five GOLF.com writers who were there

April 12, 2020

There are two versions of Tiger Woods’s dramatic win at the 2019 Masters: the version that most of the golf world watched on the CBS telecast and the version that the lucky few who were on site at Augusta National experienced.

In the moments immediately following Woods’ green-jacket-winning performance, GOLF.com’s writers were all over Augusta National — in the parking lot with Woods’ friend Rob McNamara, in the locker room watching with Tour pros, chatting with Patrick Reed by the clubhouse, next to Woods’ family behind the 18th green.

We convened five our writers who were on site to rewatch Tiger’s back nine and illuminate the details you didn’t see and hear. (See video at the top of this article.) Like how patrons cheered when Francesco Molinari rinsed his tee shot on 12. Or how Woods might have gotten the best break of the tournament on 13. Or how nervous Rickie Fowler was in the locker room. Or how PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan and PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh reacted in unison in the clubhouse. (They were giddy golf fans, just like the rest of us.)

For the full rewatch experience, you’ll want to watch the fourth-round broadcast right along with us. Here’s how to do it:

1. Open a second window on your browser

2. Go to this link: the “videos” page on the Masters website

3. Scroll to “Masters 2019 Broadcast: Sunday” and begin the video at the 3:14:40 mark, with Molinari preparing to his tee shot on 11.

That’s where our writers began watching, so if you cue up both videos simultaneously, our insiders can provide a unique soundtrack for your rewatch, dishing color and insights you won’t hear anywhere else.

Enjoy your rewatch — we certainly did!
