April 8, 2019

2019 Masters week is upon us, so if you plan to gamble on the tournament, you better get your bets in soon. To that end, the updated Masters odds for this week are in, and they show a little movement from our last check up.

Masters odds: Favorites

The current favorite to win the Masters on Golfodds.com is the same as last week: Rory McIlroy. However, his chances have improved slightly. Seven days ago McIlroy had 8/1 odds to win the Masters, but this week he’s set at 7/1. He has not teed it up since the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play where he lost to Tiger Woods to finish T9.

Coming in right behind McIlroy is Dustin Johnson. Johnson has spent time as the 2019 Masters favorite, even as recently as a month ago. But four days out from the start of the tournament he finds himself trailing Rory with 10/1 odds to win.

Justin Rose remains the third-place favorite on the 2019 Masters odds heap at 12/1. The former U.S. Open champion has unquestionably been one of the best players in the game over the last few years. This week, he passed Johnson to re-take No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Masters odds: Past champions

The most notable past champion in the field, Tiger Woods, saw his Masters chances slide recently. Last week, Woods was tied with Rose at 12/1, but as of Monday he dropped to 14/1 odds. He’s the only player with those chances as of now, but another former champion is right behind him at 16/1: Jordan Spieth.

Spieth has struggled with his game for over a year now, but his record at Augusta National is incredible. Spieth finished T2 in his first appearance in 2014, won the 2015 Masters when he was 21 years old, recorded another T2 in 2016, and finished third last year.

The next Masters champion with the best odds is two-time winner Bubba Watson at 25/1, followed by three-time champ Phil Mickelson at 40/1.

Who has the worst odds to win the 2019 Masters? There’s a four-way tie at the bottom of the heap at 5000/1, and all of them are aging past champions: 53-year-old Jose Maria Olazabal, 60-year-old Larry Mize, and 61-year-olds Ian Woosnam and Sandy Lyle.
