Friday morning was a difficult one for the European team. The U.S. came out flying. With Jordan Spieth holing every putt in sight and a host of chip-ins elsewhere, the American team raced to big leads in three of the four matches.
But it was the the lead-off match, featuring Justin Rose and Jon Rahm against Brooks Koepka and Tony Finau, that stayed a hard-fought battle throughout.
The match swung back and forth, but this chip-in from from Rose on the 442 yard par-4 12th proved a big shift in momentum. Check it out:

Special shoutout to the very well-executed high-five, chest-bump combo celebration afterwards. Golfers generally don’t have a good track record with these things.
