This week the PGA Tour heads to the Bahamas for the Hero World Challenge, which will be staged for the fourth straight year at Albany Golf Club in New Providence. The field features four of the world’s top five players and 16 of the top 23. So, who from this loaded group is favored to come out on top?
It’s World No. 1 Justin Rose. The 38-year-old has the best odds, at 7/1, followed closely by No. 3 Dustin Johnson and No. 9 Rickie Fowler at 8/1. Earlier this fall, Rose won the Turkish Airlines Open on the European Tour, and on Thursday he’ll tee off alongside Henrik Stenson.
Meanwhile, Fowler returns this year as the event’s defending champion. As for Johnson, this will be his first appearance anywhere since the WGC-HSBC Champions in October. Fowler and Johnson will play together in Thursday’s first round.
Tiger Woods, the host of the event, enters at 9/1 odds and will play with Justin Thomas. Woods, currently No. 13 in the world, is coming off his $9 million winner-take-all showdown with Phil Mickelson last week in Las Vegas. Thomas currently stands at No. 4 in the world and last appeared on Tour at the CJ Cup in October.
