You can still play fantasy golf during Masters Week! Here’s how

April 7, 2020

Golf gamblers are stuck right now with no live events to bet on, but FanDuel has cooked something up for them.

Daily fantasy players who love betting on the PGA Tour each week can enter a different type of game this Masters week. The event at Augusta National will be simulated by FanDuel with real-life players being given fake birdies, pars and bogeys. (Just hope Rory doesn’t win the green jacket this way.)

Ready for the second twist? This fake Masters will include former legendary players like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Bobby Jones.

Want a third twist? How about golf figures from Hollywood. Happy Gilmore, Ty Webb, Shooter McGavin. They’re all involved, and they all have a price!

Atop the list is Rory McIlroy, who will cost competitors $12,000 from their virtual pot of $60,000. Defending champion Tiger Woods is a little down the list at $11,500, below Jack Nicklaus, the man with six Masters titles. Is Bryson DeChambeau and his zero career top 10s in majors pricier than Sam Snead? According to FanDuel, yes he is.

Toward the bottom are some funnier characters. Judge Smails from Caddyshack is tied with the likes of Steph Curry, Tony Romo, Jason Dufner and past champions Zach Johnson and Charl Schwartzel. Hmmmmm.

The best part about this game is that it is a free-play event. Users enter the contest at no cost and they will earn various prizes, like their share of $10,000 in virtual money which can be used to bet on real sports once they are back up and running.

For now, check it all out here at FanDuel.com.
