Winner’s Bag: Brooks Koepka’s mixed bag at the 2018 CJ Cup

October 22, 2018

With a win in South Korea over the weekend, Brooks Koepka once again took over the top spot in the World Rankings.

Koepka’s final round 64 yielded a 21-under-par total and a four-stroke victory over Gary Woodland, who also lit up The Club at Nine Bridges on Jeju Island with a final-round 63.

For his trouble, Koepka took home a check for $1,710,000 and 500 FedEx points. The new World No. 1 still does not have an equipment contract and played the same mixed bag in his latest win as he did at the PGA Championship:

Koepka isn’t the only player to enjoy success with a mixed bag this year — in fact, all four major-winners in 2018 (Patrick Reed, Edoardo Molinari and Koepka twice) won their titles with a range of brands in their bags. This is an excellent lesson for everyday golfers. Experiment with a variety of clubs from a variety of brands until you find what works for your game. Need some help?
