2024 American Express: How to watch, TV schedule, streaming, tee times

The 2024 American Express gets underway this week at PGA West in Palm Springs, Calif. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament.

With the two season-opening Hawaii events in the rearview mirror, the PGA Tour’s West Coast Swing officially begins with the AmEx in California, kicking off a four week stretch of tournaments between California and Arizona. Among the list of big names playing this week is one in particular that will catch fans’ eyes: Justin Thomas, making his season debut.
It was well documented how Thomas struggled a bit throughout the summer of 2023, eventually making a hearty push for the FedEx Cup Playoffs, ultimately coming up short. That gave him plenty of offseason time to hone and swing adjustments with his father and coach, Mike, before setting out for a comeback season in 2024.

Thomas is playing the AmEx for the first time since 2015, where he finished T7, a full 10 months before he even won his first PGA Tour event. Thomas enters the week with +2000 odds, which makes him the fourth-ranked favorite behind Scottie Scheffler, Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele.
Though the AmEx typically struggles to fill its field with the game’s elite-elite talent, 2023 winners Tony Finau and Rickie Fowler will both also be in attendance. The No. 12 player in the world, Tom Kim, looks to make it four career Tour wins before turning 22. Missing from the field, for the second time in 2024, a defending champion named Jon Rahm.
Golf Channel and NBC will provide TV coverage of The American Express, and PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ and Peacock will stream the action online, with ESPN+ providing exclusive early coverage of all four rounds.
