The 2022 RBC Canadian Open, the final PGA Tour event before next week’s U.S. Open, begins Thursday in Toronto. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament.

RBC Canadian Open preview

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the RBC Canadian Open is back, and a fine field of competitors is lined up to play. The defending champion, from way back in 2019, is Rory McIlroy, who happens to be on a heater lately and knocking on the door of victory for months.

But two players also teeing it up this week have passed McIlroy in supremacy this season: Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas.

Scheffler won three times early this year to take over the No. 1 ranking, then he captured his first major win at the Masters. In his last start, Scheffler lost the Charles Schwab Challenge in a playoff against Sam Burns.

Thomas, on the other hand, contended regularly this year before triumphing at the PGA Championship at Southern Hills for his second Wanamaker trophy. Those two players edged out McIlroy as pre-tournament favorites.
