Tony Finau’s 2025 season has gotten off to a rocky start and hasn’t gotten any better this week at the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links.

After playing Harbour Town in even par through the first two days, Finau went out early Saturday, hoping to make a move up the leaderboard. He went out in two under and made back-to-back birdies at No. 11 and 12.

But then a Harbour Town disaster struck at the par-4 13th.

Finau hit his tee shot in the fairway, but his approach shot ended up plugged in the front bunker. Finau tried to blast out, but the ball hit the wood lining on the bunkers and ricocheted to the back of the bunker. With another terrible lie, Finau elected to play his fourth shot backwards out into the fairway. He then hit his fifth shot to 17 feet and rolled in the putt for a double-bogey six.

Finau responded with birdies at 15 and 16 but stumbled with a bogey at the 17th to finish at three under for the day and the tournament.

The adventure for Finau at the 13th on Saturday was indicative of his disappointing season to this point.

Finau opened with a T15 at The Sentry but missed the cut at both the American Express and the Farmers Insurance Open. He carded a T13 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am and a T5 at the Genesis Invitational.

But since then, Finau’s best finish is a tie for 32nd at the Texas Children’s Houston Open. He missed the cut at the Players Championship and the Masters.

Finau isn’t the only one having a hard time turning his luck around at Harbour Town.

Sahith Theegala entered the week without a top-15 finish on the season and played the first two rounds of the RBC Heritage at one over.

The 27-year-old found an early birdie on Saturday to try and jumpstart his round before the wood sidings bit him on the par-3 fourth.

Theegala tried to sling a hooking tee ball to the back hole location, but it landed on the wood and was catapulted over the green and into the water on the other side. Theegala went on to make bogey.

Harbour Town just isn’t the place to try and find your lost game.
