Hello, friends, and welcome to today’s edition of the Rogers Report! After enjoying exactly one month at home in Boston, I am back on the road this week at Erin Hills for the U.S. Women’s Open! I love attending USGA events for a handful of reasons, and one of them is definitely because of the greatness of the media center setup, food options and merchandise shop. Oh yeah, and there’s always some really, really great golf.
The 2024 U.S. Women’s Open at Lancaster Country Club was one of my favorite tournaments last year, so I have big expectations for this week. I’m still getting a grasp of just how big this place is — I truly think the grass field that we’re parking on is bigger than my Rhode Island neighborhood. There’s also a barista in the media center, so we are off to a great start.
Things I’m particularly excited for this week
U.S. Women’s Open social media game
When we think of golf tournaments that do social media really, really well, the Masters always comes to mind. You know who else should come to mind? The U.S. Women’s Open. From fun graphics to stunning on-course photography to player content, the U.S. Women’s Open Instagram account is as good as it gets when it comes to keeping their followers up to date in an entertaining and eye-catching way. Let’s take a look, shall we?
The amateurs
There are 26 (yes, you read that correctly) amateurs in the field at Erin Hills this week, and I’m eager to see how they perform on the big stage at the U.S. Women’s Open. Last year, Asterisk Talley was the youngest player in the field at Lancaster. She made the cut and tied for the low amateur at the event. I’m confident the 16-year-old will impress us all again this week. Just try not to compare your 16-year-old self to whatever Talley does.
I’m also looking forward to seeing how 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur champion Lottie Woad plays this week, as well as Kiara Romero, who teed it up in the final pairing on Saturday at Augusta National last month. I interviewed both Woad and Romero ahead of their starts at the ANWA and am excited to watch them play this week.
The 1:25 p.m. tee time
I know, I know. Super groups aren’t everybody’s thing. But assuming they’re going to happen anyways, this one is about as good as it gets.
Nelly Korda, Charley Hull and Lexi Thompson the mega-group at this week's U.S. Women's Open. Going off 1:25p local time Thursday.

I had the time of my life watching Nelly Korda and Charley Hull battle it out in Sunday singles at the Solheim Cup last fall, so I’m excited to watch them play alongside Lexi Thompson on Thursday and Friday.
Bubba Watson and Caitlin Clark
Bubba Watson brought a special gift for Caitlin Clark to the Indiana Fever game last week.
Have to say I was not expecting this crossover pic.twitter.com/CuHDDLR9K3

The two-time Masters champion brought Clark one of his signature pink left-handed drivers and made sure to sign it before handing it over. I don’t have a fancy home office, but I have to think that’s where this sort of thing lives, right?
Either way, it was very cool to see my favorite WNBA player alongside a professional golfer, and I hope we get to see Clark at another event or two this year.
Tiger’s office
Will Lowery teamed up with Jupiter Links GC to give their loyal Instagram followers a walk through of Tiger Woods’ office. I was very excited to watch these videos and couldn’t help but laugh at how… normal his office seems. I’m not fully sure what I was expecting. Maybe a trophy case, but now I’m guessing Woods keeps those elsewhere. If you forget about the part where he’s an 82-time PGA Tour winner with 15 major titles, this could pass for the office of a guy who just really likes Tiger Woods.
Throughout the tour, Lowery shows us all sorts of memorabilia: winning scorecards, clubs, staff bags, trinkets from tournaments long ago and more. There are photos everywhere, including one of Tiger with Snoop Dog.
I think my favorite item Lowery pointed out was a Masters mini basketball hoop. That’s something my college-aged brother would probably buy at Augusta National if given the chance. I guess it just shows that when it comes to office decor, it doesn’t really matter who you are. Mini basketball hoops will always be in.
Check out the walk-throughs of Tiger’s office space below.
Alright folks, that’s all for today. But I’ll be back every day this week with a Rogers Report from the U.S. Women’s Open, so stay tuned for that!
