James Adducci made the media rounds when he cashed in on an $85,000 bet on Tiger Woods to win the Masters (which paid him $1.19 million), but he’s resurfaced and is betting even bigger.
According to Golf Digest, the 39-year-old Wisconsin man was in Las Vegas on Wednesday and placed $100,000 on Woods to win the Grand Slam this season. To repeat, that’s $100k, at 100-to-1 odds, for Woods to win the remaining three majors this season. This one pays out $10 million.
Adducci, who said his Masters wager was the first bet he’d ever made, reportedly made the bet at William Hill Sportsbook at the SLS Casino, the same place he made his first Masters bet. According to ESPN, it’s the biggest liability on a bet (in any sport) that William Hill has had in its 85-year history.
Woods is the favorite to win the PGA Championship with 8-to-1 odds. If Woods wins the PGA and the bet is still alive, he’ll head to Pebble Beach for the U.S. Open (another venue he’s won on) before the final major of the season at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland, which is hosting the British Open for just the second time in its history. The first was in 1951.
