New Year’s Eve 2019 won’t just mark the end of the year. It marks the end of the decade, and it’s been a pretty good one for golf. Even though Tiger Woods spent large chunks of it injured, it wasn’t a processional by any means. We saw the rise of young guns like Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth and Brooks Koepka. Phil Mickelson was ever-present throughout, and of course, we got that 15th major win from Tiger along the way.
And to commemorate the close of the decade, Forbes formulated their top 10 highest-paid athletes of the decade list.
It’s pretty interesting stuff, and there’s two golfers on the list. You might be able to guess who: Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, who come in fifth and sixth with combined winnings of more than 1 billion dollars.
