Here’s how you can stay at Streamsong (and play all three courses!) for under $1,700

November 8, 2019

Streamsong Resort was not only recently named one of GOLF’s Top 100 Resorts in North America, it has also become one of the country’s most sought-after golf destinations for its collection of top-caliber tracks. Boasting three courses on property — the Blue, Red and the newest course, the Black — Streamsong also has another thing going for it: location.

With average temperatures that remain in the low-to-mid 70s throughout the winter months, Streamsong is an ideal destination for a quick golf getaway. Here’s how you can visit for three nights — and play all three courses — for under $1,700.

AIRFARE: $200

While Streamsong’s location is a boon when it comes to weather, it’s a bit more of a boo when it comes to accessibility. But hey, will drive for good golf, right?

Your best bet is a flight into Tampa (TPA), which will leave you about an hour-and-a-half drive to Streamsong. Nonstop flights from ORD, BOS and JFK for a November weekend I selected ranged from $124-$240, while a one-stop itinerary from LAX can be purchased for as low as $298 (all prices via Kayak).

TOTAL AIRFARE: ~$200

GROUND TRANSPORTATION: $128

With such a long drive awaiting you after your flight, the most comfortable and economical way to go is to rent a car. (An Uber to and from the airport will cost you a bit less, but it’s always nice to have your own vehicle.) You can get a midsize model from Alamo for $256 for the whole three-night itinerary (price via Kayak) — that’s $128 each when split in half, and less if you’re traveling with others.

TOTAL SPEND: $200 + $128 = $328

LODGING AND GREEN FEES: $1,198.05

Thanks to an epic package deal (Streamsong’s “Stay and Play 18”), you can enjoy one round at Streamsong for each night you stay, plus a $25/night resort credit. For a Friday-to-Monday stay in November, the total for two people staying in the same room (with two beds) comes out to $2,396.10, inclusive of taxes and resort fees. That’s $1,198.05 per person.

And just as a reminder: You’re getting the chance to play the highly acclaimed Streamsong courses, two of which (the Red and Blue) are highly ranked (Nos. 10 and 14, respectively) in GOLF’s most recent list of the Top 100 Courses You Can Play. The green fees for all three courses exceed $200 per round in the winter months for non-resort guests.

TOTAL SPEND: $328 + $1,198.05 = $1,526.05

DINING: $155

There are four restaurants on property, so you won’t need to leave the resort premises to have a good meal. Plus, you have $75 in resort credit money to burn (thanks, package deal!), so make sure to have at least one or two meals in-house.

Here’s a suggested breakdown:

Day 1 golf course lunch: $20

Day 1 dinner: $40

Day 2 golf course lunch: $20

Day 2 dinner: $40

Day 3 golf course lunch: $20

Day 3 dinner: $40

Miscellaneous breakfasts and snacks: $50

Total dining spend: $230 (minus $75 resort credit) = $155

TOTAL SPEND: $1,526.05 + $155 = $1,681.05

And there you have it! Three rounds on fantastic tracks, plus three nights at a Top 100 resort, all for under $1,700! Ready to book? Happy travels!
