Shane Lowry lookalike mistaken for Open champion in Portrush (and he plays along)
It appears as if we have an official Shane Lowry doppelgänger. A man named Curtis Kinney was in Portrush following the 2019 Open Championship, and apparently he was mistaken for the 2019 Champion Golfer of the Year.
In the video below, which was posted on Monday, the man plays along with the joke and poses for photos instead of blowing his cover. He chatted and took pictures with Lowry’s fans, who were going nuts, in what appears to be a beer garden in Portrush.
Even people who weren’t posing for pictures with Kinney looked on with amazement, totally believing — or surprised others were believing? — that this was indeed Lowry. Watch the hilarious video below.

Given Kinney’s look, it’s understandable why he was mistaken for Lowry. It’s also fair to guess that this lucky man earned himself a few free beers.
