We’ve reached the halfway mark in Detroit as the competitors have completed 36 holes of golf and the cut has been made. Round 3 is coming up on this holiday Saturday and here’s everything you need to know to watch the action.

Previewing Rocket Mortgage Classic Round 3

Webb Simpson and Chris Kirk share the 36-hole lead heading into the weekend in Detroit. Simpson is picking up where he left off after a win at the RBC Heritage two weeks ago, firing a bogey-free 64 in Round 2 to jump into the lead. And following a leave of absence last season to deal with alcoholism and depression, Kirk is back to playing some elite-level golf. Kirk secured his first victory in five years a few weeks ago when he won the Korn Ferry Tour’s King & Bear Classic, and he’s carried that momentum with him back to the PGA Tour.

A stroke behind the leaders is a bunch of players at 11-under, among them Seamus Power, Matthew Wolff, Mark Hubbard, Ryan Armour and Bryson DeChambeau. The newly beefed up DeChambeau has been the talk of the Tour since the restart and he looks to be continuing his torrid stretch that includes three top 10s in a row.

Kevin Kisner, Ricky Werenski and Sepp Straka sit another stroke back at 10-under through two rounds.
