Masters projected cut: Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods in danger of missing the weekend

As the second round of the Masters progresses, it’s becoming more clear which players will make the weekend of play, and who will be heading home early from Augusta National.

What is the Masters cut?

At the Masters, the top 50 players and ties after Friday’s round qualify to compete on the weekend. With 86 players currently in the field, that means approximately three dozen players will bid the Masters adieu at the conclusion of the second round.

What is the Masters cutline?

Midway through the second round, the Masters cutline is set at two over par. That means that any player who finishes at two over or worse will face an early exit from Augusta National. The cutline is subject to change, however, as more players complete their rounds.

Who is in danger of missing the cut at the Masters?

There are some notable players who are so far down the leaderboard that missing the cut is looking likely, even if they have a lot of holes left to play in Round 2. If the line remains at two over par, these are the players who are currently in danger:
