Previewing Masters Round 1

The experts’ picks have been made, the Par 3 Contest is over and the Masters Champions Dinner is a distant memory — and now the 2023 Masters is finally underway.

Who will come out on top this year and slip on the green jacket come Sunday? Will it be World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who would join the rarefied ranks of back-to-back Masters champs? Or will Rory McIlroy finally take down Augusta and complete the career Grand Slam?

Eighty-eight top pros and select amateurs — with 18 LIV Golf players among them — will battle it out across 72 holes at the most famous golf course in the country to determine our champion, and it all gets started with Thursday’s opening round.

You can stream the first round of the Masters via ESPN+, Masters.com and the Masters App beginning early in the morning and lasting all day long, or you can watch the telecast on ESPN starting at 3 p.m. ET.
