The 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am kicks off on Thursday, and we’re eyeing one long shot in particular for a big bet this week. Here’s our pick, the betting favorites and everything else you need to know for the week.
AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am odds: Long shot bet of the week
For our long shot bet of the week, we turn your attention to 27-year-old Beau Hossler. Hossler first rose to fame when he contended at the 2012 U.S. Open at Olympic Club — at the tender age of 17 years old. Hossler even held the outright lead halfway through the second round, eventually finishing T29 behind winner Web Simpson.
It’s been a long journey since then for Hossler, who earned his PGA Tour card for the 2017-2018 season. He hasn’t earned a victory yet, but last year he started knocking on the door with regularity. He made 13 of 23 cuts, earning two top-10 and seven top-25 finishes in the process.
On top of all of that, Hossler’s best finish last season was a solo third at, where else, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. So far this year, he’s made six of eight cuts and collected three top 25s.
Hossler’s pre-tournament odds-to-win the Pebble Pro-Am sit at +8000. That means if he’s able to improve on his 2022 performance and actually take home his first career win this week, he could turn a modest $10 bet into $800. If you prefer less risk, Hossler is also +450 to finish in the top 10.
AT&T Pebble Beach odds: This week’s favorites
A lot of big-name stars are sitting out the Pebble Pro-Am this week, but not all of them. Coming in as the oddsmakers’ favorite to win is reigning U.S. Open champ Matt Fitzpatrick at +900.
But two intriguing picks can be found just behind Fitzpatrick. Three-time major winner Jordan Spieth comes in at +1000. Spieth missed the cut in his last start at the Sony Open, but he opened with a 64 to start among the leaders. He also finished runner-up at last year’s Pebble Pro-Am.
Viktor Hovland, who is tied with Spieth at +1000, hasn’t finished worse than T21 this season, and he won Tiger Woods’ Hero World Challenge event in December.
Finally, defending champion Tom Hoge can be found a little further down the odds-to-win list at +2000.
