Golf fans won’t be seeing Lexi Thompson on social media anytime soon.
The 24-year-old LPGA golfer announced on her Instagram on Saturday that she’s going to be taking a break from social media due to the comments she has received on various platforms.
“Hey everybody, just want to say I will be taking a break from social media,” Thompson wrote. “If I post it will be from my management team for me. I’m too involved with it, and to read some of the hurtful things being said to me lately isn’t fair and I’m not dealing with it. Thank you to my true fans out there I will be back on but I’m going to be focusing on me right now and my life. Thanks for understanding.”

This isn’t the first time that the 2014 ANA Inspiration winner has taken a hiatus from social media. Thompson stepped away from social media after the passing of her grandmother in 2017.
The No. 6 player in the world hasn’t won since the CME Group Tour Championship this past November. Thompson’s most recent appearance on Tour was a third-place finish at this year’s ANA Inspiration earlier this month.
