Lexi Thompson gives update on back injury: ‘Everything is ok’

October 4, 2019

Lexi Thompson took to Instagram to let her fans know that she’s doing okay.

It’s been just over two weeks since Team USA’s gut-wrenching loss in the Solheim Cup, and Thompson made headlines during Sunday singles when it was reported that back spasms may prevent her from competing. Thompson ultimately lost her match to Europe’s Georgia Hall.

In an Instagram post on Friday, Thompson included a video of her swing on the range at Trump National.

“Well everybody just letting you know I got my back checked and everything is ok!” Thompson wrote in the caption. “Still in a bit of pain but I’ll tough it out and get the proper work needed on it. Probably just a bit of overuse and swing changes over time. But here are some videos from my practice session today.”

Though the major season is over on the LPGA Tour, there’s still plenty to play for, with the Asian swing kicking off on Oct. 17th, and the CME Group Tour Championship in November. And it just so happens that Thompson is the defending champ at the CME.
