WATCH: Justin Thomas gets half-naked for a recovery shot in Florida

Justin Thomas perfectly executed social distance, thanks to his golf ball being plenty far from where it should be. He just might have to add a few more things than his hands to be properly sanitized.

With PGA Tour pros off until the middle of May after Tuesday’s postponement of the PGA Championship and cancellation of four additional events due to the coronavirus, Thomas provided a “#coronavirus update” on his Twitter and Instagram accounts on Wednesday.

Playing in a match in Hobe Sound, Fla., Thomas’ ball landed in the mud on the 17th hole, just short of standing water. White hat backward, he took off his socks, shoes, and even his shirt. He worked his way to the ball.

“I’m starting to feel some weird things on my toes,” Thomas said.

With music lightly playing the background, he took two practice swings, smacked it out and quickly covered himself from the mud. His friends were impressed.

“Out!”

“What a shot!”

“Got it out!”

“#coronavirus update,” Thomas posted. “When you’re 1 down with 2 to go, you lay it all out there. Easy birdie, not so easy getting the mud out of my shorts and between my toes #whip @ Hobe Sound, Florida”

“Looks familiar,” close friend and fellow professional golfer Tom Lovelady commented.

He’s right.

In December of 2017, in what appears to be the exact same location, except in the standing water, Lovelady faced a similar shot, while playing with Thomas. No shirt, too.

“Recommend taking the top off,” Lovelady said as he prepared to hit. “‘Bout to get a little dirty.”

Lovelady also got it out — but splashed water and mud over himself and his friends.

“You got some on me! What a shot, T Love!”

“Let’s go!”

“Sometimes the money games require some serious decisions… @tom.lovelady made the most of this one…” Thomas posted on social media.

Wednesday’s post was Thomas’ second since the various cancellations and postponements. On Sunday, he shot a 65 — and lost by five shots to Rickie Fowler.

“Nice playing with @rickiefowler today, really a lot of fun. I shoot 65 (humble brag I know), and get smoked. Mid season off season is going well.”
