Denny McCarthy is a trendy pick to break through and get his first PGA Tour win this week at the 2025 John Deere Classic.
While the putting savant just might wind up holding the trophy on Sunday at TPC Deere Run, Subpar co-host Colt Knost is confident McCarthy will at least be in the mix, which is why he picked him as his Fanatics Sportsbook bet of the week.
“I actually think this guy is going to win the golf tournament,” Knost said. “He loves this place. You got to make a ton of birdies. You got to roll the rock. No one rolls it better than Denny McCarthy. The time is now. Top 20 at +140.”

Co-host Drew Stoltz went a different direction, picking one of the PGA Tour’s up-and-coming young guns to have a good showing in the Quad Cities.
“I’m also going top 20. I’m getting +175 on this. Had a really good chance to win last week,” Stoltz said. “Finished fourth. Had a month off after his WD at Colonial. I feel like he’s coming back fresh. He looked really good off the tee and on the greens last week. He can make a ton of birides. He’s just kind of coming into his own. Michael Thorbjornsen, stand up.”
Ben Griffin, who has been hot over the last two months, is the betting favorite at +1600. Next is Jason Day at +2200, followed by Si Woo Kim at +3000.
