Scottie Scheffler has already defended one title on the PGA Tour this year, but can he make it 2 for 2 today?
Kurt Kitayama leads the Arnold Palmer Invitational through 54 holes at Bay Hill, but Scheffler is among a talented group right behind him.
Kitayama sits at nine under, with Scheffler and Viktor Hovland both one back at eight under. Tyrrell Hatton is at seven under and is two back of the lead, and Rory McIlroy and Harris English are both at six under, three off the lead.
The 30-year-old Kitayama is still looking for his first win on the PGA Tour, and he enters Sunday holding the 54-hole lead for the first time in his career. A Scheffler win, however, would make him the first player since Tiger Woods in 2007 to successfully defend multiple times in a season, and it would also vault him to World No. 1 (as long as Jon Rahm doesn’t finish T2 or better).
The final pairing of Kitayama and Hovland tees off at 1:20 p.m. ET.
