The 2022 Hero World Challenge begins on Thursday, December 1, with the first round at Albany in the Bahamas. Here’s what you need to know to watch Round 1 on TV or online.

Previewing Round 1

At last week’s DP World Tour Championship, former World No. 1 Jon Rahm opined about the unfairness of the Official World Golf Ranking, especially the fact that the PGA Tour’s RSM Classic offered more points than the DP World Tour’s star-studded finale. He then went on to prove his point, winning the tournament but staying put at No. 5 in the ranking.

This week, Rahm has as an opportunity to take advantage of the ranking realities he takes issue with, and to finally make some headway toward reclaiming the No. 1 spot at the 20-player Hero World Challenge.

Another former No. 1, Scottie Scheffler, is also in the field, and like Rahm will be hoping to capitalize on current No. 1 Rory McIlroy’s absence and reclaim the title of world’s best before year’s end.
