Round 3 of the 2023 Travelers Championship is set to start soon, with the action heating up at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn.
But before any of the players were able to make their mark during Saturday’s third round, it was Mother Nature’s time. With a shaky forecast arriving late Friday night, the PGA Tour postponed the start of the third round until 10:59 a.m. local time, with players going off in threesomes off both sets of tees.
All that means is there will be more golfers on the course at all times Saturday, leaving plenty of golf shots for your television viewing pleasure. Scroll down to see a preview of round 3, as well as information on where to watch on both TV and online.
Previewing Round 3
Two men have been better than everyone else in Connecticut. The first is Denny McCarthy, who nearly holed out for 59 in his first round, ending up with a 60, and then followed it up with a smooth 65 in the second round Friday.
The other is Keegan Bradley, who started his tournament with five straight birdies, carding a 62 and then a 63 thus far. Yes, the name of the game at the Travelers is to take it as deep as possible. McCarthy and Bradley sit at 15 under, two clear of the third man in their Saturday group: Chez Reavie.
Lurking down the leaderboard is some firepower in Rory McIlroy (eight under) and Scottie Scheffler (seven under). At this point, it’ll take two special rounds to reinsert themselves to contention, but it anyone can do it these days, it’s one of those two.
