WATCH: Golfer juggles a ball off an iron all the way up an Austrian mountain
Matthias Schwab walked along a gravel path, then across two wooden bridges, then up a rock-covered hill, then along the edge of a cliff, then across a path, then along the side a wooded hill, then in the snow, then – finally – at the base of a snow-covered mountain.
He never lifted his head throughout.
He juggled a golf ball on a right-handed iron throughout.
“Today’s objective: Make it to the top without the ball dropping on the ground… ,” the European Tour player wrote on his social media accounts on Saturday, “and finish in style!”
Schwab made it to the top. He didn’t drop the ball on the ground after just under 100 hits. And he finished in style. Objective hit.

With the European Tour on hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, Schwab starts his journey in the Duisitzkarsee area in Austria as the trunk of a car closes. Wearing a light-gray sweatshirt, black warm-up pants and a filled backpack, he drops the ball on the iron and takes off on a dirt road. The juggle tally: about 15.
Schwab then crosses the first wooden bridge that covers a stream. In the background are trees leading up a mountain. The juggle tally: about 10.
Another wooden bridge, though the water below here is moving quickly. Snow, on a mountain in the background, is seen for the first time. The juggle tally: about 15.
Schwab then navigates up a rock-covered hill. At times, he uses his left hand for balance. The juggle tally: about 16.
The tips of the trees in the background are now just below his eye level as he walks along the edge of a cliff. The juggle tally: about six.

Schwab crosses a path after walking up a hill. There’s no need to look left or right, as the road has nary a mark. The juggle tally: about 11.
He walks along a path on the side of a wooded hill. The juggle tally: about eight.
Schwab is now walking fully in the snow. On one step, he almost trips, but recovers. The juggle tally: about 11.
The final stop. He’s walking on a patch of grass. On about the sixth juggle, he smacks the ball off the iron a bit higher before taking a full swing and hitting the ball toward a snow-covered mountain. He holds the finish.
“Awesome work…. how is your arm feeling?,” fellow pro Pablo Larrazabal commented on Instagram.
“A bit numb,” Schwab replied.
