Gary and Amy’s friendship goes back to earlier this year at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in Arizona. Before Woodland arrived at TPC Scottsdale to defend his 2018 title, he received word from the Tour that they wanted him to play the iconic par-3 16th hole with Bockerstette during a practice round. Not surprisingly, Woodland was on board.

Bockerstette hit her tee shot into a bunker, blasted it out to eight feet and drained the putt for a feel-good moment. Here’s the video, which has earned more than five million views.

During Sunday’s final round, Amy tweeted out that she was rooting for Woodland to hold onto the lead and win. Count her among those who were thrilled to see Woodland’s breakthrough Sunday afternoon, as she and her family celebrated the win together.
