Lexi Thompson is ready to put the rigors of full-time pro life behind her.

On a humid August morning at Panther National in Palm Beach Gardens, the GOLF content team gathered to spend a day with one of the game’s most sparkling personalities: Lexi Thompson. The occasion? A celebration of a career well-played. Earlier this year, Thompson announced that this LPGA season would be her last as a full-time pro. What does the future hold for the 29-year-old star? Thompson has some ideas, but is ready to embrace the unknown, too. One thing we know for sure: We’re going to miss her.

In addition to an exclusive interview, which you can read here, we gathered plenty of other fun vignettes from Thompson during our time with her, from behind-the-scenes footage to instruction geared toward regular Joes like us. Check them out below!

1. Lexi’s next chapter

She’s not putting professional golf entirely in the rearview mirror, but Lexi Thompson’s decision to retire opens the door for her to experience a normal life for the first time ever. In an revealing interview, Thompson reveals just how ready she is.

2. Lexi behind the scenes

What’s it like to spend a day with one of the women’s game’s biggest stars? Follow along with this fun behind-the-scenes video to see out cover shoot come to life, featuring Lexi’s arrival on set, hair and makeup application, outfit changes, and photos and video.

3. Lexi’s advice for amateurs

As a Florida native, Lexi knows a thing or two about how to play in the wind, which she demonstrates by offering some useful pointers to GOLF senior editor Jessica Marksbury in the latest edition of Pros Teaching Joes.

4. How to bomb it like Lexi

Lexi has long been one of the game’s longest bombers, and in this instruction video, she explains the ways in which you, too, can add yards off the tee.

As a four-year member of Columbia’s inaugural class of female varsity golfers, Jessica can out-birdie everyone on the masthead. She can out-hustle them in the office, too, where she’s primarily responsible for producing both print and online features, and overseeing major special projects, such as GOLF’s inaugural Style Issue, which debuted in February 2018. Her original interview series, “A Round With,” debuted in November of 2015, and appeared in both in the magazine and in video form on GOLF.com.
