Bryson DeChambeau has spent the last month at the top of the leaderboard both on LIV Golf and at the 2025 Masters, but he has zero wins to show for his consistent play.

The two-time U.S. Open champion led LIV Miami after two rounds before being overtaken by Marc Leishman on the final day. He grabbed the lead from Rory McIlroy early on in the final round at Augusta National before imploding to finish in a tie for fifth. Last week, DeChambeau led LIV Mexico after two rounds but got tracked down by Joaquin Niemann on Day 3.

After firing a 6-under 66 on Saturday at LIV Korea, DeChambeau will again enter the final round with the lead. This time it’s a four-shot cushion over Richard Bland.

“It’s just to play like a kid, have a lot of fun, be smart, execute like you know how to, and just solidify the motion, make sure I’m moving through it right, and keep playing the golf that I know how to play,” DeChambeau said after his round when asked about the key to getting the job done Sunday at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in Incheon, South Korea.

DeChambeau hasn’t won a LIV event since September 2023, when he won at LIV Chicago.

However, the reigning U.S. Open champion has been a fixture on major leaderboards over the past year and believes that playing on LIV has helped make him a better big-game hunter at golf’s most important tournaments.

“I feel like this is sometimes a little bit more amplified in certain scenarios,” DeChambeau said of LIV Golf. “It’s very similar, which makes me comfortable actually in major championship settings. I think every event is a little more elevated in regards to the noise level and the hustle-bustleness. So when you go play a major, like even the Masters or the U.S. Open, you’re going to see some rowdiness out there. They want to see competitiveness and fire. They’re going to be cheering you on.

“So I feel like it’s very good prep going into these majors. It’s definitely been helpful the past couple years for me. I’ve been playing a lot better in them.”

While some who have joined LIV Golf have floundered at major championships, DeChambeau has been able to elevate his game at golf’s biggest tests over the last year. In his last five major starts, DeChambeau has four top-six finishes, including a win at the 2024 U.S. Open. His only stumble was a missed cut at the 2024 Open Championship.

DeChambeau will have an excellent chance to snap his LIV drought Sunday in South Korea. Bland is the only player within four shots while Dean Burmester, Jason Kokrak, Talor Gooch and Charles Howell III are all five shots back.

LIV Korea will be LIV Golf’s final event before DeChambeau and others head to Quail Hollow Club for the 2025 PGA Championship in two weeks.
