WATCH: Bryson DeChambeau throws out first pitch at Yankee Stadium

August 28, 2018

To the victor go the spoils, and Bryson DeChambeau received a particularly enticing perk after winning the Northern Trust Open on Sunday: he got to throw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium Monday night.

DeChambeau isn’t known as a second-sport guy; he’s far more well-known for his crossover into the world of science. But he acquitted himself just fine under the bright lights of the Bronx. DeChambeau, a California native, played to the home crowd: he walked out wearing the Yankee pinstripes and a No. 18 jersey along with a pair of blue shorts.

DeChambeau’s pace of play was admirable; he took mere seconds before starting his windup. He opted for a high, soft ball flight and deposited a floater into the waiting mitt of the Yankees’ catcher.

The only question left: Was this pitch a strike? Or did it cross the plate too high? Leave it to Bryson to keep us all guessing. Check out the entire video below.

While DeChambeau seemed to enjoy his time at the park, he didn’t give the Yankees the spark they needed; they lost 6-2 to the  visiting White Sox.
