British Open 2019 TV schedule: How to watch the Open

July 16, 2019

The Open Championship — the last major championship of the year — will tee off in the wee hours of Thursday morning, with plenty to look forward to. Rory McIlroy’s triumphant return to Royal Portrush is the dominant story, with fans eager to learn whether he can meet the lofty expectations heaped on him. He gets his week started at 5:09 a.m. ET, for all you early risers.

Whether you’re tuning in for Rory, to hold off hope for another Tiger title or simply to see the scenes of Portrush, you’d better carve out a plan to get some sleep. With the local time five hours ahead of eastern time, dedicated golf fans will have to forge a new sleep schedule in the interim.
