British Open 2019: Justin Harding falls after trying to chip out of bunker

In the heat of competition at the Open Championship, there has to be some light-hearted funny moments. And Justin Harding provided the first comedic moment during the fourth and final major of the season.

Through four holes of his first round at Royal Portrush on Thursday, the 33-year-old South African was one-under after a bogey and back-to-back birdies at the second and third holes. His second shot on the par-4 fifth hole found a bunker.

His ball was lying at an awkward angle, well above his feet, which forced Harding to take an uncomfortable stance.

Harding took a hard swing and put all of his body into it. But as he swung, he lost his footing and toppled back into the bunker.

To make matters worse and add insult to injury, the ball went nowhere and remained in the bunker. Harding would have to settle for bogey at the fifth hole. Watch Harding go down for yourself.
