WATCH: Sneds! Brandt Snedeker drains 20-footer to shoot 59 at Wyndham Championship

August 16, 2018

Brandt Snedeker’s opening round at the Wyndham Championship started with a bogey and two pars. Then it got ridiculous.

Snedeker played the final 15 holes at Sedgefield Country Club in 12 under par, coming in with a second-nine 27 en route to an 11-under 59. In doing so, Snedeker joined the exclusive sub-60 club: only eight other players have ever shot in the 50s in a PGA Tour event.

A poor tee shot at No. 10 put Snedeker out of position to open his round; he failed to get up-and-down for par. It was the only bad thing that would happen all day.

He reeled off birdies at 13, 14, 15 and 16 to go out in three-under 32. The 37-year-old dialed in his iron game even further at the turn. He left just four feet for birdie at No. 1, three feet at No. 2 and five feet at No. 3. He added another two-putt birdie at the par-5 5th. After splitting the fairway at No. 6, Snedeker was left with 176 yards. He flew it directly into the cup.

Snedeker wasn’t done. His very next shot came at the 223-yard 7th and he stuck that, too, leaving less than three feet for birdie.

He hit his approach shot at No. 8 to six feet but just missed the right-to-left slider, leaving himself one last chance for 59.

At No. 9, he found the fairway and the green, leaving himself with 20 feet. You can watch the rest below.
