The American Express purse: Payout breakdown and winner’s share for Sunday in La Quinta

January 19, 2020

PGA Tour rookie Scottie Scheffler and 2018 Valero Texas Open winner Andrew Landry share the lead of The American Express heading into the final round at PGA West’s Stadium course on Sunday. Though he’s seeking his maiden PGA Tour victory, Scheffler is currently ranked 66th in the world while Landry is No. 240.

The duo will attempt to fend of five-time PGA Tour winner Rickie Fowler, who trails their lead by four shots. Five other players are within six shots of the lead.

Two surprising big names who won’t be around for Sunday’s play after missing the third-round cut on Saturday: Phil Mickelson and Francesco Molinari, who were six and seven shots shy of the number, respectively.

Regardless of who prevails on Sunday (Scheffler, Landry and Fowler tee off at 1:40 p.m. ET), the victor will head home with a hefty chunk of change in his pocket. Below is the payout for The American Express’ $6.7 million purse; you can watch the action on Golf Channel beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET.
