The PGA Championship purse is continuing its upward trajectory once again this year, offering its biggest-ever collective payout to the 156 players who teed it up this week at Aronimink.
Like all the major championships, the PGA Championship purse has increased significantly every year over the last several years — nearly doubling over the last seven editions. Check out the increases since 2020:
2020 PGA Championship purse: $11 million
2021 PGA Championship purse: $12 million
2022 PGA Championship purse: $15 million
2023 PGA Championship purse: $17.5 million
2024 PGA Championship purse: $18.5 million
2025 PGA Championship purse: $19 million
This year, the trend continued, with the 2026 PGA Championship purse setting a new record at a total at $20.5 million. (The Players championship remains the richest purse in golf at a total of $25 million.)
This year’s PGA Champion will surpass the payout received by 2025 PGA champion Scottie Scheffler by $270,000, with a $3.69 million total payday. The runner-up will receive a cool $2.214 million, and third place will clear seven figures too, with a payout of $1.394 million.
Even the players who missed the cut will receive a payout of $4,300 each. So how much did the rest of the players in the field come away with this year? You can find a complete list of the 2026 PGA Championship payouts for each player below.
