How to watch U.S. Open on Thursday
It’s been a whirlwind first half of the 2025 season for Rory McIlroy. The World No. 2 has returned to his world-beating form, even with uncertainty around his driver.
McIlroy has three big wins already this year, including the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Players Championship, both PGA Tour Signature Events. But his biggest win of all, of course, came at the 2025 Masters in April, where McIlroy claimed his fifth-career major title and completed the career Grand Slam.
U.S. Open at Oakmont: A Tough Test Awaits Golfers
As the U.S. Open kicks off at Oakmont, players face a daunting challenge with a long, tough course featuring 168 bunkers and narrow fairways. Expect high scores and thrilling moments as pros tackle the treacherous conditions and fast greens.
While his focus has wandered since the Masters, Rory is now ready to buckle down and attempt to win his second U.S. Open, and first since 2011. But he’ll have to contend with defending champion Bryson DeChambeau and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler to do so.
And McIlroy’s quest begins with Thursday’s opening round.
