Featured tee time for Round 1
This week’s Open Championship represents the final men’s major of the year. But the 2025 major season has already provided us with plenty of entertainment and worthy champions — including the World Nos. 1 and 2, 2025 PGA champion Scottie Scheffler and 2025 Masters winner Rory McIlroy.
Scheffler: ‘Couldn’t care less about being the favorite’
Both players have led dominant seasons they can be proud of. They’ve won a host of PGA Tour tournaments between them in addition to their two majors, and they’ve played well even when they haven’t won.
Scheffler begins his first round at 5:09 a.m. ET on Thursday. He’s grouped with a couple of Open champions in Shane Lowry and Collin Morikawa for the first two rounds. McIlroy, grouped with Justin Thomas and Tommy Fleetwood, begins his first round at 10:10 a.m. on Thursday.
