‘On the Tour’s side:’ Rory McIlroy thinks Donald Trump can help PGA Tour-PIF negotiationsBy: Josh Schrock
In his season debut at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, McIlroy pulled off his 27th career Tour win to make his presence known quickly.
Then this week at Torrey Pines, McIlroy held an open and honest press conference where he dished on the PGA Tour-PIF negotiations and revealed that he thinks Donald Trump can help the two sides come to an agreement.
Meanwhile, he’s eyeing his second straight win to open the year. In the first round, McIlroy’s group, which features Viktor Hovland and Adam Scott, started on the back nine. So on Friday they’ll switch to a front nine start, teeing off for Round 2 at 2:20 p.m. ET
You can watch Friday’s second round of the Genesis Invitational from 4-8 p.m. ET on Golf Channel. You can also stream exclusive online coverage via PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ starting at 12:30 p.m. ET.
