With one round left to play at the Women’s Olympic Golf event, a familiar face can be found at the top of the leaderboard: former World No. 1 Lydia Ko.
She’s contending for an Olympic golf medal — with a hole in her shoe?
Ko, who won the silver medal for New Zealand at the 2016 Olympics and bronze at the 2020 Olympics, is in great position to add a gold medal to her collection on Saturday outside of Paris. She fired a four-under 68 on Friday to tie Morgane Metraux for the lead at nine under.
American star Rose Zhang is two shots back after charging into a tie for third on Friday with a 67. World No. 1 Nelly Korda will start the final round five shots back with a good opportunity at reaching the podium.
Ko, Metraux and Zhang will tee off in the final pairing on Saturday at 6:39 a.m. ET.
