Featured grouping for Round 4
While the WM Phoneix Open finish won’t avoid going up with the biggest program in TV — the Super Bowl — it seems it will at least finish Sunday evening.
A Sunday finish was put in jeopardy when the resumption of the third round was delayed 76 minutes Sunday morning due to frost. It marked the fourth straight day of at least one weather delay during a rare poor weather week in Scottsdale.
However, shortly after play resumed at 8:46 a.m. MT, the PGA Tour announced the final round would begin before the final group completes their third round as groups will finish their third round and then turn right back out and start the final round after a short break. Groups will not be repaired from the third round.
Tee times will start at 10:15 a.m. MT and continue until 12:15 p.m., which should give the final group about a 30-minute turnaround time.
That final pairing will remain Sahith Theegala, Nick Taylor and Andrew Novak. However, two-time defending champion and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler has surged into contention, birding five-straight holes out of the restart.
You can watch Sunday’s final round (and conclusion of the third round) of the 2024 WM Phoenix Open on Golf Channel starting at 1 p.m. ET before switching to NBC at 3 p.m. Peacock will offer a simulcast of Golf Channel’s and NBC’s coverage, while ESPN+ will provide featured group coverage.
