The new PGA Tour season kicks off this week with the 2024 edition of The Sentry at Kapalua Resort in Hawaii. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the event, including a full Sentry TV schedule, streaming schedule and complete tee times for the first and second rounds.

The Sentry preview

For decades the PGA Tour’s best players have gathered at Kapalua to kick off a new year, though not a new season, which formerly began in the fall of the previous calendar year. Not so anymore.

Beginning this year, the Tour’s wraparound season is gone, and the new season officially begins in Hawaii. And while most of last year’s tournament winners will be in attendance, it’s no longer called the Sentry Tournament of Champions. Now it will be known much more simply as The Sentry.

Tour Confidential: Golf’s (delayed) mega merger; the people who won 2023

The field, while still limited in size, is larger than in past events at Kapalua. In addition to the usual 30 or so champions from the previous year, a host of other pros earned spots by finishing in the top 50 in the FedEx Cup standings in 2023. They’ll be competing for a monster purse of $20 million, with $3.6 million awarded to the winner.

Unfortunately, defending champion Jon Rahm is not playing after his shocking departure for LIV Golf. But nearly the full breadth of PGA Tour stars will be teeing it up, including World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Viktor Hovland, Collin Morikawa and Jordan Spieth, to name just a few.

Golf Channel and NBC will provide TV coverage of the 2024 Sentry, while Peacock and ESPN+ will offer streaming coverage online.
